In 2009, there is the move from UAI to ATAR. If you are a current Year 12 student in NSW and you are eligible to receive a UAI, you will instead receive an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR). The changes will have very little affect on your application to UWS as the scaling and rank order will be the same and applicants will be selected for the same courses.
Any small change in an ATAR compared to a UAI will see an equivalent change in the course cut-off. For information on the ATAR cut-offs of each course at UWS, please refer to the UWS Undergraduate Course Information pages.
The change from UAI to ATAR will have no impact on your choice of courses for UWS as it will have no bearing on a your current studies or potential acceptance to UWS.
If you have any questions or would like more information, refer to the UWS ATAR Information page, call the UWS Course Information Centre on 1300 897 669 or email study@uws.edu.au
2. Consider the course fees - Undergraduate course fees vary depending on the course and study load of each student. Information about student contribution amounts and payment options for prospective students is available at the external Going to Uni website.
3. Find out about Scholarships - A number of Scholarships are now available for application online! You are welcome to browse through our wide range of Scholarships for more information.
4. Attend Events - Prospective students, their friends and family are invited to attend a number of UWS Events throughout the year. Guided campus tours, parent information evenings, Open Day and UWS Day's provide excellent opportunities to find out more about UWS opportunities first hand, on campus. An events calendar is provided to schools at the beginning of each year and information can be accessed online at the UWS Events page.
5. Find out about Student Life at UWS. Navigate the Student Life pages to find out about the support services that are available to current UWS students; the facilities that UWS has and examples of current student experiences.
6. Apply online through the University Admission Centre (UAC). Please note when making your application for a course you are required to allocate 9 preferences. Your 1st preference being the course that you most want to go in to.
7. Be prepared - by knowing about the Alternative Pathways to UWS.
- Unitrack: Individual Unit enrolment at UWS;
- UWS College: Diploma Pathways and Foundation programs;
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) Pathways from Community College, TAFE and Private Colleges.
Brett Murray is an inspirational speaker and in the You Tube video above, he speaks about the 5 P's that all senior secondary students need to be aware of.
And always remember, if you have any questions on courses, how to apply or events, call the UWS Course Information Centre on 1300 897 669 or email study@uws.edu.au
